UK Police place an order for a fleet of 130 Vauxhall Vivaro vans

Vauxhall are to provide 2,000 police and fire vehicles across 28 UK forces in a deal worth more than £35 million at showroom prices.
This fleet order also includes 130 Vivaro vans that have been modified to make them suitable for their new roles as police vehicles with the new vehicles are fitted out to include secure custody cells.
Vauxhall have provided:
- 130 Vivaro L1H1 2900 1.6CDTi Bi Turbo 120ps,
- 451 Corsa 1.3CDTi 95ps,
- 1,242 Astra 5DH & ST 110 & 136ps,
- 238 Insignia 5DH & ST 136 & 170 ps vehicles.
David Wilkin who is the West Midlands Police director of resources and the national policing lead for the procurement of vehicles organised the two-year deal.
Wilkin commented, "A vehicle purchasing collaboration between police forces and partners on this scale has never been seen before and I am delighted to say that it has been a huge success in terms of the savings made and how well the organisations have worked together."
